Lele (Joyce) Zhang received PhD degree from The University of Melbourne, Australia, and now is a lecturer inSchoolofMathematicsand Statistics at The University of Melbourne. Her research interests in the area of transportation include traffic modeling, public transport operation analysis, traffic signal systems and traffic flow theories and management such as MFD and its application. She is also interested in system modelling, resource scheduling and optimisation in the area of Operations Research.
报告简介：This talk will discuss the impact of site-wise disruptions on road networks, and the recovery process after the disruption is removed from the system. The transient behavior is modelled using domain wall theory, and the predictions are then compared with simulations of a stochastic cellular automaton model. The domain wall model can reproduce the time evolution of flow and density during the disruption and the recovery processes, for both one-dimensional systems and two-dimensional networks. This talk will also discuss using the domain wall theory and hydrodynamic model to predict the time evolution of traffic on a single link with traffic light boundaries for both short and long term scales.
